Job Description:-

A. GENERAL CARE OF THE PATIENTS

1.      Formalities associated with admission and discharge of patient.

2. Assistance and instructions to patient and their relations.

3. Bathing patients Including daily care of mouth, hair, nails, pressure points etc

4. Four hourly, or more frequent attention to pressure points as per need.

5. Giving and removing of bed pans and urine pots.

6. Giving and removing of hot water bottle.

7. Bed making.

8. Feeding of patients.

9. Distribution of diets, milk etc.

10. Demand of special feeds, eggs, milk etc. as per instructions

11. Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time Nursing Staff

B. TECHNICAL NURSING CARE OF PATIENTS

1. Administration of medicine (oral/injectables).

2. Securing and maintaining intravenous/central lines.

3. Assistance in administration of 1/v injection.

4. Preparation of injections and clearing up.

5. Recording of medicines & injection given.

6. Maintaining I.P.R./case sheet

7. Raunds with doctor.

8. Technical procedure e g enema catheterization, dressings irrigations, 02 therapy, preparing for and clearing up after procedure.

9. Preparation for and assistance in clinical tests and medical procedure.

10 Pre and pastoperative care.

11 Monitoring of vitals and Urine output.

12 Collecting, labelfing and dispatching of Specimens /samples to laboratory, blood centre etc for different investigations

13. Escorting patients to and from departments.

14 Giving and receiving reports.

15. Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time

C.WARD MANAGEMENT

1. Handing over and taking charge of shift

2. Keeping the ward clean and udy following BMW

3. Preparation of surgical supplies, bandage, splint.

4. Routine care and cleaning of dressing trolleys, cupboards, apparatus, mackintosh etc.

5. Care of clean and soiled linens

6. Disinfections of linen, beds floor and bed pans.

7. Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time

D. GENERAL

1. Demonstration and guidance to student nurses and domestic/auxiliary staffs.

2. Supervision of domestic staff

3. Assistance in orientation of new staff nurses.

4. Participation in staff education and staff meeting

5. Participation in professional activities.

6. Caring of dead bodies as per institutional SOP

7. Maintaining proper record and updated inventory

8. Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time

10+2 or equivalent with Minimum B.SC/GNM Nursing 

1 years of experience after certification.
