About Position

8 posts of Field Surveillance Coordinators i.e. 4 each for two regions stationing at Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar for ensuring surveillance of Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) and Routine Immunization

To support Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) surveillance and Routine Immunization activities through active field surveillance, case investigation, outbreak response, data reporting, coordination with health authorities and frontline health workers, and community engagement across the assigned districts.

Qualification Description

Qualification & Experience

Post-graduate degree in Sociology/Social Work with 02 years of relevant field experience

OR

Any Graduate with PG Degree in Public Health/Health Management/Health & Hospital Administration/ Hospital Administration

OR

Any Graduate with Two years diploma in Public Health/Health Management/Health & Hospital Administration/ Hospital Administration

The candidate having experience in Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) Surveillance, Disease Surveillance or having relevant working experience will be given preference.

Experience Description

Other Requirements:

Willingness to undertake extensive field travel within the assigned district and surrounding areas.

Ability to coordinate with health facilities, medical officers, frontline health workers, reporting/informer units, and district/block authorities.

Personal motorized two-wheeler with valid registration, driving licence and third-party insurance, as required for extensive field movement.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Field Coordinators will perform all surveillance roles earlier undertaken by WHO Field Monitors)

• Active and passive surveillance of VPD cases and contacts

• Field validation and case investigation

• Contact tracing and outbreak response

• Specimen collection, cold chain maintenance, and transport

• Sensitization of reporting units, informer units, and FLHWs

• Promotion of proactive and zero reporting from all reporting and informer units

• Coordination at sub-district / block / ward level

• Participation in weekly review meetings

• Social mobilization and community engagement

• Support during public health emergencies and disasters

• Support other IDSP surveillance activities as assigned
